This is the earliest that we have ever seeded potatoes. There are still some snow banks around, but they are few. In the past week fields have gone from snow covered to bare dirt; the temperatures have been in the upper teens, Celsius / sixties, Fahrenheit. The ground is dry dry. We have not had any truly significant moisture for a year. In spite of huge snow drifts this winter, most of that was due to drifting on account of extreme winds. Yesterday we tilled three raised beds; they were nothing but dust. I will have to water them today.
